This is an image of a two small Philippine Fiddler Crabs. There are many species of crabs in the Philippines and these crabs are smaller than most. The are about 1 or 2 inches in diameter and live in small holes in shallow water. I was kind of far away when i took this image looking down from a rock wall on the shore and these Crabs are looking at me and seem to be protecting themselves with their large claw as if I were some type of enemy or predator. The male crabs have a single large claw and will fight over a female. If one of them looses a claw the smaller claw will grow into a new large claw.
